[music review] YOUNG MODERN – SILVERCHAIR
(song: mind reader, live on Young Modern’s launch @ Sydney)
Despite so many harsh-shallow comments on their changes, mostly from their stuck-old fans, Silverchair continues their musical exploration by reaching a wider range of music. Though this album is considered too poppy, it has nothing to do with commercialism, but purely for music’s sake (especially the lyrics, too personal to be commercial). Daniel Johns’ non-conventional style in songwriting still revealed, creating some surprising arrangements which shocked audience at first with peculiar sounds but later get them suited (even addicted) to it.
